5.2 Provide feedback to students on their learning
Proficient level: Provide timely, effective and appropriate feedback to students about their achievement relative to their learning goals.
I aim to give students immediate feedback on their learning whenever possible.
Example: I introduced my students to journal writing at the beginning of term. The students will reflect on their learning on a weekly basis, writing about what has happened, what they have learned, what they found challenging and what they found enjoyable. We discovered that this wasn't easy in the beginning as we had to really challenge ourselves to remember all of the week's events. Below are some pictures of the first journal entries made by some students with my feedback. My feedback is intentionally detailed so as they have a clear understanding of what is needed to show improvement.
