I was fortunate enough to participate in an incursion run by FYI Drug and Health Education. I was given a choice of 'missions' for the class to participate in and I chose one aimed at cyber-safety, computer safety and cyber bullying. The session was presented in a fun and interactive way using innovative 3D interactive technology. All students fully participated in the activities and continued to talk about it over the next couple of weeks.
The class were given a toy rat who had been a part of the session and this has helped to anchor the students' learning to the classroom and our own ICT lessons and computer use at home. We have named the rat 'Secret Squeaky' as he is a secret spy & we take him with us to the computer room as a reminder to stay safe on the internet.
